Alan Dershowitz warns to Newsmax that DA Bragg has initiated a conflict that will have lasting consequences.
Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz issued a warning on Newsmax about Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s business records charges against former President Donald Trump for political reasons, stating that it has caused significant damage to the justice system.
Dershowitz expressed his concerns on “Wake Up America,” stating that Bragg’s actions have set a dangerous precedent of weaponizing the criminal justice system for partisan purposes. He criticized the selective nature of the prosecution, noting that it appears to be driven by political motivations rather than a quest for justice.
Despite the looming threat of jail time for Trump, Dershowitz believes that the former president will not be incarcerated before the election. He argued that Judge Juan Merchan’s handling of the case is influenced by a desire to harm Trump’s reputation rather than impartial justice.
As for Hunter Biden’s trial on gun charges, Dershowitz commented that a plea bargain is still possible but emphasized that the law should be applied equally to all individuals, regardless of their name or status.
