Alex Acosta tells Newsmax: Trump Compels Media to Cover Important Topics
Former Secretary of Labor Alex Acosta spoke with Newsmax on Monday about how former President Donald Trump’s comments, like the recent “bloodbath” remark, push the media to cover important issues that they might otherwise ignore.
Acosta explained, “Media does not want to cover this,” referring to the state of the economy, during an appearance on “Newsline.” He highlighted that Trump’s speeches draw attention to crucial topics that affect people’s lives, forcing the media to address them. Acosta encouraged viewers to demand media coverage of these issues and switch to outlets that prioritize them if necessary.
During a rally in Ohio, Trump discussed the challenges the U.S. auto industry faces from imports, describing it as a “bloodbath.” Mainstream media outlets sensationalized the remark, with misleading headlines suggesting Trump was predicting violence unless he is re-elected in November. Trump criticized Democrats and the media for distorting his words and spreading fear.
Acosta emphasized that the “bloodbath comment” was taken out of context, and the real concerns are the economy, inflation, and job scarcity. He pointed out the rising cost of food and the struggle for families to make ends meet. He also critiqued the jobs created under President Biden, noting that many are in non-productive sectors like government and healthcare administration.
