Alford Tells Newsmax: Biden’s Visit to East Palestine Comes Too Late
President Joe Biden’s trip to East Palestine, Ohio, a year after a disastrous train derailment is being criticized by Rep. Mark Alford, R-Mo., as “a year late and a dollar short,” according to Newsmax.
Alford expressed his disbelief at the president’s awareness of the situation, stating, “The guy doesn’t know what day of the week it is,” in an interview on Carl Higbie Frontline.
Based on the Associated Press, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre did not specify the exact date of Biden’s visit, but it is expected to be on Saturday, the anniversary of the disaster, which caused hazardous chemicals to contaminate the water supply and the surrounding community.
Addressing questions about the president’s visit to Ohio, the press secretary said, “When it is appropriate or helps … the community for him to be there,” he will go, emphasizing Biden’s commitment to assisting communities in need regardless of their political affiliation.
Social media users had previously accused the president of ignoring Ohio due to its political leanings, prompting speculations about his absence in East Palestine, as reported on Twitter.
