Alina Habba tells Newsmax: “Fair Trial in N.Y. ‘Impossible'”
According to Donald Trump’s legal spokeswoman, Alina Habba, it will be “impossible” for the former president to receive a fair trial in New York City. This starts with the unrealistic task of assembling a “clean jury.”
Appearing on Newsmax, Habba discussed the challenges Trump faces in his business records case in New York. She mentioned that it will be difficult to seat an impartial jury given the political climate in Manhattan.
Habba expressed her concerns about the lack of fairness in the legal proceedings, emphasizing that the case is not about upholding the law or the Constitution but rather about political agendas. She questioned the timing and location of the trial, calling it “pathetic” that an old case is being brought to trial in New York.
She also pointed out that the current jury composition, consisting of four women and three men, sets a precedent for the difficulties Trump will face in finding an impartial jury.
Habba emphasized the political polarization in the country and how it could impact the trial process, stating that it would be nearly impossible to find a completely unbiased jury in New York.
