Andrew and Tristan Tate have reportedly departed Romania and arrived in the United States, just weeks after travel restrictions were lifted for the former kickboxer and his controversial “manosphere” influencer brother, despite ongoing legal issues related to human trafficking.

A court ruling in July permitted their departure from Romania, provided they stayed within the European Union (EU). However, the reasons for their travel to the U.S. remain unclear.
Previously, the brothers were released from their house arrest by Romanian authorities.
In the early hours, around 5 AM, the Tate brothers, both dual citizens of the U.S. and the U.K., boarded a private jet at Bucharest Băneasa – Aurel Vlaicu International Airport, marking the end of a three-year travel ban.
Andrew Tate boasts an impressive following of 10.7 million on X.
Andrew, known for his contentious take on social issues, often addresses themes of combat, fitness motivation, masculinity, get-rich-quick schemes, and critiques of feminism. His commentary has led to accusations of misogyny from various media outlets and the public.
In a 2022 YouTube appearance, he stated his intention to convert to Islam, referring to it as the “last true religion on the planet.”
In contrast, Tristan Tate adopts a more political stance in his X posts, focusing on politicians, political parties, the Ukraine-Russia conflict, NATO, and immigration. He also occasionally addresses men’s mental health and psychiatry issues.
According to reports from Romanian media citing “airport sources,” the private plane carrying the Tate brothers has landed in Florida.
The ongoing investigation by Romania’s Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) stated that special prosecutors consented to their request to leave the country, but the case against them remains active.
“The request to change the obligation of not leaving Romania was approved,” prosecutors declared on Thursday.
“All the other obligations have been retained, including the requirement for them to report to judicial authorities whenever summoned.”
The brothers are expected to return to Romania at an “undisclosed future time,” with their legal case still ongoing.
Andrew, presently 38, and Tristan, 36, alongside two Romanian women whose identities remain undisclosed, were taken into custody in Bucharest in December 2022, facing allegations of rape, trafficking minors, and leading a criminal syndicate for the sexual exploitation of women. In mid-2023, all four were formally indicted.
Furthermore, a Romanian court ruled that the case against the Tates and the two Romanian women could not advance to trial unless the indictment from prosecutors was “rectified.”
Prosecutors subsequently launched a second criminal investigation against the Tates and four other suspects in August, focusing on money laundering, human trafficking, and organizing a criminal network.
The Tate brothers have consistently denied all charges against them.
