Andrew Tate Barred From Exiting Romania Following Court of Appeal Reversal of Decision Allowing EU Travel – One America News Network

British-US former professional kickboxer and controversial influencer Andrew Tate (L) and his brother Tristan Tate (R) leave after having been released from detention in Bucharest, Romania on March 12, 2024, after they appeared in a court after Romanian police detained them over UK sex offence charges. A Bucharest court on March 12 granted a request to extradite controversial influencer Andrew Tate to the UK over sex offence charges, but only after the conclusion of legal proceedings in Romania in a separate case. The Bucharest appeals court ruling "orders the execution of the warrant of arrest issued on 19 January 2024" by the Westminster Magistrates' Court, but postpones extradition "until the final resolution of the case" in Romania, which could take years. A Romanian court of appeal ruled Tuesday that it overturned a previous ruling which allowed internet personality Andrew Tate to travel around the European Union while awaiting trial on charges of human trafficking.

The ruling comes after Tate was indicted in 2023, along with his brother Tristan and two Romanian female suspects for human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women, all allegations they have denied.

While awaiting the start of the trial, they are banned from leaving Romania.

Tate and his brother Tristan celebrated just two weeks ago after they were given permission to leave the country for the first time in two years.

The internet personality took to X, on July 5th announcing the news and declared “I AM FREE… THE SHAM CASE IS FALLING APART.”

Earlier this month, the Bucharest court lifted the restriction, granting the four suspects freedom of movement within the European Union (EU), a ruling prosecutors challenged and the Bucharest Court of Appeals overturned on Tuesday.

The court “accepts the challenge brought by anti-organized crime prosecuting agency DIICOT,” it said in a statement.

“It rejects as unfounded the accused’s request to replace the obligation to not leave Romanian territory with the obligation of not leaving the European Union.”

Meanwhile, the Tate brothers are the highest profile suspects facing trial for human trafficking in Romania.

“God has made a plan for me, and I am following his decisions,” Tate told reporters in court on Tuesday.

“If I get shot in the head, I get shot in the head. If I get free, I get free. If I stay home, I stay home. I’m happy. I’m not emotionally involved in any of the process. I’m going to follow the law. I’m going to respect the Romanian judicial system. Whatever they decide, I will do.”

Additionally, the brothers were held in police custody during the criminal investigation from late December 2022 until April 2023 to prevent them from leaving the country or tampering with evidence.

As a result, they were then placed under house arrest until August, when courts put them under judicial control, a smaller preventative measure.
