Archer: Burisma Faced Threat from Ukrainian Prosecutor
According to Hunter Biden’s former business partner, Devon Archer, the Ukrainian prosecutor that Joe Biden had fired in 2016 was seen as a threat to the energy company Burisma. Archer testified before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, revealing that top Burisma executives had requested Hunter Biden’s help in exerting pressure on Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin. Joe Biden had previously boasted about threatening Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko with the withdrawal of $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees if Shokin was not fired. There were also allegations made in an FBI form that Joe and Hunter Biden had coerced a $10 million payment from Burisma’s CEO in exchange for Shokin’s firing. Archer confirmed that Shokin was indeed viewed as a threat to Burisma, as he had seized the assets of the company’s CEO. Archer also stated that there was significant pressure to fire Shokin, and after he was fired, Burisma seemed to be let off the hook. Archer denied that his testimony failed to show Joe Biden’s involvement in his son’s business, claiming that Biden was aware of Hunter’s business and had met with his business partners. These revelations further connect Joe Biden to his son’s foreign business dealings.
