Arizonan Billboard Features DNC’s Claim of Trump as Convicted Felon
The Democratic National Committee on Thursday unveiled an Arizona billboard campaign labeling former President Donald Trump as a “convicted felon,” according to Axios.
The billboards in Phoenix criticize Trump, who was recently convicted of falsifying documents related to a payment made to an adult film star to silence her before the 2016 election. They state: “Trump already attacked Arizona’s Democracy once. Now he’s back as a convicted felon. He’s out for revenge and retribution. Trump: unhinged and unfit.”
Trump, who is planning to hold a town hall event in Phoenix with Turning Point Action CEO Charlie Kirk, is facing challenges due to his recent guilty verdict. These challenges come just ahead of the November election, in which Trump will compete against Democratic President Joe Biden for the White House.
Despite the conviction, Trump, 77, maintains his innocence, and his attorney has stated the intention to appeal the verdict promptly.
Reacting to the situation, DNC deputy communications director Abhi Rahman cautioned against the consequences of a Trump victory, warning that it could lead to further revenge attacks on opponents.
Rahman stated, “If Trump, now a convicted felon, wins in November, he pledges to be a dictator on ‘day one,’ advocating for his agenda of revenge and retribution. This could involve threatening political violence, attacking reproductive rights, and undermining democracy in Arizona. In contrast, President Biden is focused on the well-being of Arizonans, while Trump’s actions demonstrate his disregard for the rule of law and his unsuitability for office.”
