Barr: Georgia Indictment Nurture Perception of Trump Being Targeted

Former Attorney General Bill Barr believes that the latest indictment against former President Donald Trump contributes to the narrative that he is being victimized. The indictment, brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis in Georgia, accuses Trump and 18 others of attempting to overturn the state’s presidential election. This is the fourth felony indictment against Trump, with other cases involving allegations of falsifying business documents in the Stormy Daniels case, mishandling classified documents, and trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Trump’s allies argue that these indictments are a conspiracy to prevent him from being reelected. Barr criticized the Georgia case for being too broad and unlikely to be tried before the election. He also dismissed the other indictments as “far more focused” and suggested they may not be tried in court. Despite offering negative testimony against Trump and stating that he should not be the GOP nominee, Barr indicated that he would not vote for him if he were the nominee.
