Ben Carson tells Newsmax he has not discussed the Vice President position with Trump
Dr. Ben Carson commented on reports of being vetted as former President Donald Trump’s running mate in an interview with Newsmax. Carson stated that he had not discussed this possibility with Trump.
Katrina Szish from “American Agenda” asked Carson if he had talked to Trump about the potential of being his running mate. Carson responded that they had talked about many things, but not specifically about that topic. He emphasized the importance of focusing on saving the country from its current challenges.
According to a report by The Washington Post, the Trump campaign sent out vetting applications to eight potential candidates, including Dr. Ben Carson. The report listed other Republicans who received requests for vetting paperwork.
Trump is expected to announce his running mate at the Republican National Convention in July. Among the criteria Trump mentioned for selecting a running mate is the ability to be a good president in case of emergency.
Several other names have been suggested as potential running mates for Trump on social media platforms like X. These suggestions include individuals like Vivek Ramaswamy, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Kari Lake, Kristi Noem, Tucker Carlson, and Rand Paul.
