Bernie Kerik criticizes Boston Mayor Wu for ‘cowering to leftist, Marxist lunatics’ in interview with Newsmax

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu is standing firm on anti-policing policies despite a surge in crime, prompting former NYPD Commissioner Bernie Kerik to issue a warning on Newsmax.

“These approaches consistently fail, and that’s exactly what will happen in Boston,” Kerik told “America Right Now.”

“It’s ridiculous that mayors like this one in Boston continue to push for these failed policies, succumbing to pressure from the left and dangerous Marxist ideologies.”

Kerik pointed to the aftermath of the 2020 defund the police movement, driven by Black Lives Matter and antifa, as evidence of the disastrous impact on public safety and order.

“Minneapolis was one of the first cities to try this approach, announcing defunding and demilitarizing the police force,” Kerik explained. “Their crime and murder rates skyrocketed.

“Within six months, they were forced to backtrack. Within a year, they had to reinstate the officers they let go, recruit new ones, and implement new policies.

“They had to undo everything they had so hastily abolished or sought to abolish.”
