Beth Ailes Voices Concerns to Newsmax: Fox News Losing Touch, Experiencing Declining Ratings
The wife of the late Roger Ailes, the founding chair of Fox News, Elizabeth “Beth” Ailes, spoke out about the network’s decline in ratings for its recent Republican debate. She attributed the drop to the absence of Tucker Carlson, a lack of trust in the network, a decrease in talent, and the absence of former President Donald Trump. Ailes also criticized the Murdoch family, controlling shareholders of Fox’s parent company, for being out of touch with Fox’s audience. She suggested that Fox has suffered from a lack of leadership since her husband left the network in 2016, opening up competition from networks like Newsmax. Ailes claimed that many viewers have left Fox and accused mainstream news channels, including Fox, of being repetitive and boring.
