Biden denounces the shooting of Slovak Prime Minister.

President Joe Biden expressed his deep concern over the attempted assassination of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico on Wednesday and assured that the U.S. Embassy is prepared to support the Slovak government, as per a statement released by the White House.

“I am disturbed by the reports of an attack on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico,” Biden stated. “We strongly condemn this violent act. Our embassy is in contact with the government of Slovakia and is ready to provide assistance.”

The Slovak government reported that Fico, aged 59, is in critical condition after being shot in the stomach during an incident near the House of Culture in the town of Handlova, where he was meeting with supporters.
