Biden Makes Live Appearance on Howard Stern Show
During a live radio broadcast with interviewer Howard Stern on Friday, President Joe Biden shared personal family stories and reflected on how his stutter has shaped his life.
Biden expressed that his stutter, which he has struggled with since childhood, has ultimately been a positive force in his life. While he has learned to control it, the stutter sometimes resurfaces during his public speeches.
Discussing his visit to New York for political events, Biden opened up about his personal background in an effort to connect with voters on a more personal level.
He also recounted a story of his father, Joseph Robinette Biden senior, teaching him resilience through tough love. Biden shared a memory of being knocked out while playing football in fourth grade and his father urging him to get back up.
“My dad walked out with us and said, ‘Joey, get up. Just get up. Gotta get up,'” Biden recalled.
