Biden Receives No Approval Bump After State of the Union
According to reports from The Federalist, President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address did not resonate well with most Americans based on four polls conducted after the speech.
The Forbes/HarrisX poll revealed that 59% of registered voters believed Biden’s speech further divided the country rather than unifying it, with only 41% holding the opposite view.
Various other polls, including YouGov, Yahoo, Rasmussen, FiveThirtyEight, and Morning Consult, did not show a significant increase in approval ratings for Biden post-address. In the FiveThirtyEight polling averages, Biden’s approval rating slightly decreased from 38.1% on March 7 to 38% presently. The Economist/YouGov poll indicated minimal change in approval ratings.
A Yahoo News/YouGov survey conducted after the speech showed Biden and former President Donald Trump in a statistical tie in a head-to-head matchup, a trend that continues today.
Before the speech, 40% of Americans approved of Biden’s job performance as president, with 56% disapproving. These numbers have now shifted to 39% approval and 55% disapproval.
