Former acting director of the United States National Intelligence, Ric Grenell, has criticized the Biden administration for allowing tensions to escalate between Serbia and Kosovo, undoing a historic peace agreement brokered by former President Donald Trump. Grenell stated that relations between the two countries have deteriorated under Biden’s leadership, with increased violence and dependence on NATO troops. He argued that Biden’s decision to hand over engagement on the agreement to the European Union has made things worse. Grenell urged the current administration to prioritize the Balkan region to fully realize peace and prosperity between Serbia and Kosovo.
