Biden Unveils New Ad Contrasting Trump’s Relationship with Latinos
The Biden campaign released a new TV commercial on Friday targeting Hispanics by highlighting past statements made by Donald Trump in an effort to regain support from this voter base.
In the 30-second ad titled “Change,” Biden narrates the entire clip, emphasizing Trump’s past remarks about immigrants being “rapists” and claiming they are “poisoning the blood” of the country.
Biden questions Trump’s rhetoric and emphasizes the importance of diversity in the United States. The ad will be running in swing states like Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Florida, reported by The Hill.
The Biden reelection campaign’s Hispanic media director, Maca Casado, criticized Trump’s words and actions in the ad, highlighting Biden’s support for diversity and the negative impact a Trump presidency could have on the Latino community.
Recent polls show a decline in Biden’s support among Hispanics, with Trump gaining ground among this demographic. The ad is part of a $30 million campaign aimed at Latino voters following Biden’s State of the Union address.
Trump’s campaign press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, claimed that key Democratic constituencies are turning to Trump due to dissatisfaction with Biden’s policies and record.
