Biggs, Grothman Address Border Crisis in Newsmax Hearing
Rep. Andy Biggs, along with Rep. Glenn Grothman, expressed their concerns about the dangerous situation on the U.S. border during an appearance on Newsmax. They are leading an immigration field hearing in Arizona to address the issue. Biggs emphasized that the hearing will include testimonies from local officials, such as the county sheriff, who will discuss the crimes and high-speed chases happening due to the migrant situation. He highlighted the increasing danger faced by both migrants and law enforcement personnel. Grothman criticized the absence of any Democrats at the hearing, stating that without firsthand accounts, important information, such as the high number of chases, is not being shared.
The congressmen also responded to comments made by Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador regarding two dead migrants found near the buoys installed in the Rio Grande. Biggs disputed Obrador’s claims, stating that the section of the river where the buoys are is walkable. He accused Obrador of facilitating cartels and called attention to the hundreds of bodies of individuals illegally entering the U.S. that have been discovered recently.
Grothman also criticized Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for his focus on domestic violent extremism, particularly white supremacists, as the main threat to America. Grothman argued that the real threats are the increasing deaths at the southern border and the rising number of murders in inner cities. He accused Mayorkas of attempting to educate young people to become anti-American.
