Blaine Holt slams Biden’s words to Gold Star Parents as ‘Reprehensible’ in Newsmax interview

Retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier Gen. Blaine Holt criticized President Joe Biden for telling the family of a soldier killed in a drone attack about his son Beau’s death in connection with his service in Iraq, during an interview with Newsmax on Friday.

Holt told “Wake Up America” that it was wrong for Biden to make the conversation about his own experiences and called it “reprehensible.”

Biden made a phone call to the family of Sgt. Kennedy Sanders, a 24-year-old Army Reservist from Waycross, Ga., on Tuesday, telling her parents that their daughter would receive a posthumous promotion from specialist to sergeant. He also shared details about his own son’s deployment and death.

Later in the call, Biden spoke about his son’s health issues and death, which did not sit well with Holt. He explained that as a first-level commander, one would be expected to deliver the news of a service member’s death to their family.

Sanders’ mother thanked Biden for sharing his experience, and Holt commended the family for being as “gracious as they were in this time.”

Holt criticized Biden’s behavior, saying that the embellishment and lies were disrespectful, especially in their time of grief. He also warned that Biden’s actions projected weakness on the world stage and could potentially lead to a global war.

Retired Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer joined the program and commented that Sanders’ promotion was the only bright spot in the situation. He also criticized the administration for disrespecting and dishonoring the military for political gains.
