Bob Barr tells Newsmax that the NRA is planning to launch a strong campaign to support the GOP
National Rifle Association president Bob Barr spoke with Newsmax on Wednesday about the organization’s primary objectives of supporting former President Donald Trump and other “pro-Second Amendment candidates” in the upcoming election in November.
Barr, a former GOP congressman from Georgia who recently became NRA President, stated on “Wake Up America” that the NRA’s first priority is ensuring the re-election of Donald Trump as President.
Barr expressed concerns over the actions taken by President Joe Biden and emphasized the need for change at the top level of leadership in the country. Trump, in his address at the NRA annual convention, promised to undo any restrictions on the Second Amendment imposed by Biden if re-elected.
In addition to supporting Trump, the NRA aims to engage and motivate its millions of members to support Trump, down-ballot Republicans, and the NRA itself. The group’s legislative lobbying arm, the Institute for Legislative Action, is working to mobilize resources for campaigns at both state and federal levels.
The NRA plans to launch a robust media and ground campaign in key states, particularly where Senate seats are at stake.
