On Tuesday, officials from the Trump administration gathered at the Department of Justice (DOJ) with Attorney General Pam Bondi to deliberate on the newly launched Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias, the latest initiative from President Trump.

“This task force will work to identify any illegal anti-Christian policies, practices, or behaviors existing in government, gather feedback from faith-based organizations and state authorities to eliminate anti-Christian bias, and rectify deficiencies in current regulatory practices that may contribute to this issue,” Bondi affirmed.
Bondi claimed that the Department of Justice, during the Biden Administration, “misused and targeted Christians” without facing consequences.
“As President Trump has pointed out, the Biden administration systematically targeted peaceful Christians while turning a blind eye to violent anti-Christian actions. The president is correct,” Bondi added. “President Biden proclaimed Easter Sunday as Transgender Day of Visibility. This will no longer happen.”
Among the high-ranking cabinet members present at the meeting were Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, FBI Director Kristi Noem, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Education Secretary Linda McMahon.
During a National Prayer Breakfast held in February, President Donald Trump announced the signing of an executive order that established the task force.
With a commitment to “fully prosecuting anti-Christian violence and vandalism in our communities,” the president appointed Pam Bondi as the leader of the task force, emphasizing her role in safeguarding the rights of “Christians and religious believers globally.”
The executive order instructs the task force to immediately halt all instances of “anti-Christian targeting and discrimination” within the federal government, including the DOJ.
“The prior Administration displayed a shocking trend of targeting peaceful Christians, while neglecting violent acts against them. The Biden Department of Justice aimed to suppress faith in public spaces by bringing federal charges against and securing lengthy prison sentences for nearly two dozen peaceful pro-life Christians merely for praying and demonstrating outside abortion clinics,” the order specifies.
However, Americans United for Separation of Church and State (AU) condemned the task force shortly thereafter, contending that it would justify “bigotry” and “discrimination.”
“Instead of safeguarding religious beliefs, this task force will exploit religious freedom to legitimize bigotry, discrimination, and the undermining of our civil rights laws,” stated Rachel Laser, the group’s president and CEO.
Nevertheless, AU has faced charges of bigotry themselves, as they frequently articulate their objective of dismantling “White Christian nationalism”—a narrative that tends to portray Christianity, and those seeking to uphold it in governance, as fundamentally linked to whiteness—casting them as the bogeyman of their concerns to avoid offending Christian people of color (POC).
“For nearly 80 years, Americans United has fought for the separation of church and state against surges of white Christian Nationalism. We’re mobilizing in every city, county, and state because we understand that church-state separation is the antidote to white Christian Nationalism and the cornerstone of our democracy,” their website declares.
On Monday, President Trump vowed to support Christianity in “the halls of government,” corporate entities, and educational institutions.
“This Holy Week, my Administration reaffirms its commitment to protect the Christian faith in our schools, military, workplaces, hospitals, and government facilities. We will consistently safeguard the right to religious liberty, uphold the sanctity of life, and preserve the presence of God in public life,” Trump stated, as echoed by the White House.
