Recently, Pennsylvania Democrat Senator John Fetterman expressed his belief that Hunter Biden deserves a pardon from his father, President Joe Biden, stating it was “appropriate.” He also suggested that President Biden should consider pardoning President-elect Donald Trump.

During a Thursday appearance on ABC NewsThe View, Fetterman claimed that the legal challenges faced by both Hunter and Trump are “politically motivated.”

“In both instances, I find a pardon to be appropriate. I genuinely believe that America’s trust in these institutions has been undermined by such cases. We must not let these institutions be weaponized against political opponents,” stated Fetterman.

Fetterman’s remarks followed President Biden’s controversial decision to pardon his son on Sunday after previously asserting he would not, arguing that Hunter had been “selectively and unfairly prosecuted.”

Hunter Biden faced federal gun and tax charges after admitting guilt to nine federal tax offenses for falsifying records and neglecting to file, along with lying on gun application forms to wrongfully acquire a firearm while battling addiction to crack cocaine.

Simultaneously, President-elect Trump is confronting 34 counts related to falsifying business records in the first degree, allegations he has also labeled as political persecution.

“Clearly, both trials were politically driven and weaponized by the opposing side,” continued Fetterman. “The trial in New York involving Trump was also politically charged. In both scenarios, I find a pardon to be fitting.”

Furthermore, Trump’s legal team has asserted that his New York case should be dismissed, given President Biden’s admission that the Department of Justice has been utilized as a political weapon.

“By granting a blanket 10-year pardon to Hunter Biden covering all potential crimes, whether charged or uncharged, President Biden essentially stated that his son was ‘selectively and unfairly prosecuted’ and ‘treated differently,’” remarked Trump’s attorneys.

“President Biden contended that ‘raw politics has tainted this process and has led to a miscarriage of justice.’ These comments represent a striking condemnation of President Biden’s own Department of Justice,” they added, noting that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg “has engaged in ‘precisely the sort of political theater’ that President Biden has criticized.”
