Californian Detained: Illegal Immigrant Wanted in India for Terrorism Arrested – One America News Network

The newly appointed FBI Director, Kash Patel, revealed the apprehension of an illegal immigrant from India, who was sought after in his native country for ties to terrorist activities.

The individual in question, identified as Harpreet Singh, is wanted in India related to terrorism charges resulting from a grenade assault aimed at a former police officer in Chandigarh last September.
Singh was recently detained in Sacramento, California, by the FBI and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) team, with assistance from Indian law enforcement agencies.
“Harpreet Singh, an individual suspected of terrorism who illegally entered the United States, has been arrested by the FBI & ERO in Sacramento. The FBI’s Legal Attaché office in New Delhi, India, alerted Sacramento on Singh’s involvement in several terrorism incidents across Punjab, India. He is believed to have collaborated with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Khalistani terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). For a time, Singh evaded authorities by employing untraceable burner phones and encrypted messaging apps. This case underscores the critical role of international collaboration in capturing individuals who pose a threat to global security,” stated the FBI’s Sacramento division on Facebook.
India’s National Investigation Agency has announced a monetary reward for the capture of Singh, with officials asserting that he orchestrated “targeted killings, grenade attacks on police stations, and extortion activities.”
According to authorities in Punjab, Singh was noted as a “key operative” within the Babbar Khalsa, a Khalistani terrorist outfit, and had strong ties to terrorist Harvinder Rinda residing in Pakistan.
Director Patel shared news of the arrest via X, expressing the FBI’s belief that Singh was also plotting attacks on various U.S. police stations, alongside plans in India.
“CAPTURED: HARPREET SINGH, a member of an alleged foreign terrorist group operating illegally in the United States, suspected of planning multiple assaults on police stations in both India and the U.S.,” Patel proclaimed.
“@FBISacramento led the investigation, working together with partners both locally and in India. Kudos to everyone involved; justice will be served. The FBI remains committed to tracking down those who seek to commit violence, regardless of their location,” Patel concluded.
The successful multi-agency operation to apprehend Singh highlights the growing collaboration between law enforcement agencies of both nations since the commencement of President Donald Trump’s second term.
In another notable incident, Tahawwur Rana, an Indian national implicated in planning terror attacks in 2008, was also repatriated to India earlier this month.
