Chad Wolf Tells Newsmax: Biden’s Border Visit Speech is a ‘Disservice’

Former Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf criticized President Joe Biden for talking about climate change instead of addressing the border crisis during his visit to the border last week. Wolf said that Biden’s focus on climate change did a disservice to the Border Patrol, Texas communities, and the family of slain Georgia nursing student Laken Riley, who was not mentioned during the visit.

Wolf expressed disappointment that Biden did not mention Laken Riley’s tragic death or outline steps to prevent a similar incident from happening again. Riley, 22, was found beaten to death on the University of Georgia campus by Jose Antonio Ibarra, who was in the U.S. illegally.

Both Biden and former President Donald Trump visited border areas on Thursday, with Biden in Brownsville, Texas, and Trump in Eagle Pass, Texas. Wolf commended Trump for addressing the crisis and being honest with the American people while criticizing Biden for talking about blaming Republicans and not focusing on solutions.

During Biden’s visit, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas stated that Mexico’s increased enforcement efforts have led to lower illegal apprehension rates in Brownsville. Wolf emphasized the need for the Biden administration to take responsibility for securing the border rather than relying on other countries’ efforts.

Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland of Terrell County, Texas, noted the ongoing lawlessness and lack of rule of law on the border, urging voters to make informed decisions to address the border crisis.
