Chiefs’ Harrison Butker Urges JD Vance to ‘Protect the Unborn’ Following Trump’s Abortion Comment – One America News Network

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, known for his outspoken views on politics, recently drew attention to his Catholic beliefs on the topic of abortion, which generated both praise and criticism.

Butker specifically called on former President Donald Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, to “defend the unborn.”
On Friday, the 45th president made a post on Truth Social, stating, “My administration will be great for women and their reproductive rights.”
Butker took to Twitter, urging Vance to realign the Republican Party with their fundamental values concerning the sanctity of life and the protection of the unborn.
“No party or candidate is perfect,” Butker began.
“I implore my fellow Catholic @JDVance to help bring the Republican Party back in line with the foundational platform that all life is valuable and there can be no compromise when it comes to defending the unborn.”
Butker then quoted Catholic priest Father Chad Ripperger, emphasizing the importance of voting for the lesser evil to protect potential good.
During the Chiefs’ visit to the White House last year, Butker was seen wearing a tie with the words “Vulnerari Praesidio” in cursive, translating to “Protect the most vulnerable,” and a gold pin depicting the size of a 10-week-old baby’s feet.
Previously, Butker made headlines for criticizing President Joe Biden’s stance on abortion during a commencement speech at Benedictine College in May.
“[Biden] has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people it appears that you can be both Catholic and pro-choice,” he said.
In an interview with ETWN News in March, Butker emphasized that unborn babies are “the greatest victims of our society.”
