Chris Cabrera discusses with Newsmax: Chinese nationals crossing the border must be ‘state-sponsored’

Chris Cabrera, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent and vice president of the National Border Patrol Council, expressed serious concerns about the increasing surge in illegal border crossings, cautioning about potential consequences for national security due to the influx of Chinese nationals.

In a conversation with Newsmax on Tuesday, Cabrera raised alarming issues regarding immigration enforcement, stating, “Their methods are unbelievable from the government’s perspective; and the fact that people from all around the world are coming here is because we are allowing it.”

Cabrera informed “Eric Bolling The Balance” about how lenient enforcement is aiding illegal immigration.

“Most of them don’t even need to be smuggled anymore. So, effectively, we are assisting the smugglers,” he explained. “We are bringing them in and just releasing them, putting them on a bus, or driving them to their destination.”

Regarding the source of migrants, Cabrera mentioned, “We’ve always had Chinese individuals coming through different parts of the border. … So, they will naturally take advantage of it.”

“It’s not easy for someone to leave China as a citizen, you need permission, so for people to come in such numbers, it’s likely state-sponsored,” he added.

He also expressed doubts about the intentions of some migrants.

“You can easily differentiate between someone coming to work and someone… with tattoos all over their face. It’s quite obvious they are not coming for regular work. It’s all a facade,” he noted.

Cabrera expressed his concerns about the damage unchecked immigration is causing to the system, recounting instances where migrants changed their stories upon realizing they were dealing with law enforcement.

Cabrera voiced his worries about the future.

“We are allowing unchecked entry. There are legal ways to enter. Unfortunately, we are not enforcing that. We are letting them in illegally and allowing them to head wherever. Something bad is bound to happen, and unfortunately, it might be sooner rather than later.”
