The first trial from the investigations of special counsel John Durham has now begun, and the jury selection by an Obama-appointed judge allowed jurors who previously donated to the campaigns of Barack Obama and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The case will be looking into how Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann and others were allegedly looking to create an “October surprise” by manipulating the FBI.
In other news, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, announced that his deal to purchase Twitter may be off unless the social media company can prove that the number of fake users on the site are less than 5 percent, as its data has claimed. The move has placed Twitter in a difficult position, as information revealed about the platform amid Musk’s bid to purchase it could expose the company to lawsuits from investors.
