CNN Challenges White House for Advising Maui Victims to Rely on FEMA Website
CNN anchor Sara Sidner questioned White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about urging victims of the Maui wildfires to use FEMA’s website and phone line to request help, despite the lack of power on the island. Sidner pointed out the difficulties faced by the people of Maui, including no power and limited communication and movement. Jean-Pierre stated that FEMA is working on the ground and doing everything they can, including working with cell companies to improve communication. President Biden and first lady Jill Biden will travel to Maui on Monday to survey the damage and meet with officials.
