In light of his inauguration ceremony being relocated indoors, Donald Trump utilized Truth Social to inform the public that, citing an Arctic blast and a desire to avoid any injuries, he has mandated that all portions of the ceremony take place inside.

“January 20th is eagerly anticipated! Even those who initially opposed a victory for President Donald J. Trump are now looking forward to it,” he stated on Truth Social. “My duty is to safeguard the Citizens of our Country, but we must consider the inauguration itself first. The weather prediction for Washington, D.C., with the wind-chill, could result in dangerously low temperatures. An Arctic blast is affecting the Country. I do not want anyone to face injury or discomfort. It poses serious risks for the thousands of Law Enforcement Officers, First Responders, Police K9s, and horses, along with the countless supporters who will be outside for extended periods on the 20th (If you choose to attend, please dress warmly!).”
“As a result, I have directed that the Inaugural Address, along with prayers and other addresses, be given in the United States Capitol Rotunda, as Ronald Reagan did in 1985 due to extreme cold,” he added. “Dignitaries and Guests will be escorted into the Capitol. This will be a memorable experience for everyone, especially for the vast TV audience!”
The President-elect further announced that he will participate in a live viewing party of this momentous occasion at the Capital One Arena after his swearing-in ceremony.
“We will open Capital One Arena on Monday for a LIVE viewing of this Historic event, and to host the Presidential Parade. I will join the audience at Capital One following my Swearing In.”
All arrangements remain unchanged for his victory rally on Saturday and for the three inaugural balls that Trump is expected to attend on Monday evening; the Commander in Chief Ball, the Liberty Inaugural Ball, and the Starlight Ball.
“All other events will continue as planned, including the Victory Rally at Capital One Arena, on Sunday at 3 P.M. (Doors open at 1 P.M.—Please arrive early!), and the three Inaugural Balls on Monday evening.”
He included a graphic of the anticipated weather at the conclusion of his Truth Social message.
Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance are scheduled to be sworn in at the Capitol Rotunda. This venue was previously used for a presidential inauguration during President Ronald Reagan’s second term in 1985.
