Congress Officially Confirms Trump’s Election Victory – One America News Network

Following the guidelines of the 12th Amendment, Congress held a joint session to tally the Electoral College votes from the 2024 presidential election. Ultimately, Congress declared Donald Trump as the incoming president of the United States.

On this day, the Joint session of Congress gathered in the Hall of the House of Representatives to uphold the provisions of S.Con.Res.2.
In a systematic manner, Vice President Kamala Harris, who serves as the Senate president, opened each state’s electoral vote certificate and handed them over to four designated “tellers”—two from the House and two from the Senate. These tellers then tallied and recorded the electoral votes for each state and the District of Columbia (DC).
The tellers included Representatives Bryan Steil (R-Wis.) and Joe Morelle (D-N.Y.), alongside Senators Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) and Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.).
Upon completing the vote tally, Harris, who conceded the election to Trump, announced the certified results.
Harris articulated her responsibility as a “sacred obligation”, stating she would proceed “guided by love for the country, commitment to our Constitution, and steadfast faith in the American populace.”
“Today, at the United States Capitol, I am fulfilling my constitutional responsibility as Vice President of the United States to certify the results of the 2024 election,” Harris remarked in a video statement. “Our democracy is indeed fragile, and it is essential for each of us to uphold our most cherished principles.”
While Harris may not have shown her emotions openly, sources indicated that the moment was quite poignant for her and her supporters, as noted by a “former longtime Harris assistant” who had been part of her campaign.
“There’s certainly a sense of sadness and frustration,” the anonymous source conveyed. “She felt she should have emerged victorious, but the nation chose a different path.”
