Congressman Perry Tells Newsmax that Biden Boasts about GDP while Americans Face Challenges

According to Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa., President Joe Biden is praising the new gross domestic product (GDP) numbers as positive, despite Americans facing financial struggles and being unable to afford basic necessities.

The latest report from the Commerce Department reveals that the GDP growth rate slowed sharply from 3.4% in the last three months of 2023 to 1.6% in the first quarter of this year.

Perry shared his views on Newsmax’s “Carl Higbie FRONTLINE” show, criticizing Biden for overlooking the financial difficulties faced by Americans amidst rising costs. He highlighted the discrepancy between increased prices and stagnant wages, emphasizing that people are struggling to make ends meet.

While the Biden administration chooses to emphasize positive economic indicators, Perry pointed out that these numbers do not reflect the reality for ordinary Americans facing financial challenges. He underscored the disconnect between Washington, D.C., and the real world, where people are struggling to meet their financial obligations.

On Thursday, Biden released a statement celebrating the first quarter GDP numbers and pledging to address the concerns of working families. He emphasized the need to reduce high costs and ensure that no one is left behind in the country’s economic recovery.
