Congresswoman Cammack Tells Newsmax: Voters Rank Border Security as Top Concern

Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., told Newsmax that the immigration crisis at the U.S. southern border is the top concern for American voters.

“It is all about the border,” she said Tuesday on “Wake Up America.” “The border is the number one issue that people care about – why there is an open border crisis that is completely avoidable and is affecting communities across the country, leading to crime, opioid epidemics, and the fentanyl crisis that is taking 100,000 lives every year.

“This is the issue that people are discussing, and President Joe Biden has not been successful in managing it, but instead, he has worsened the crisis through his policies. Therefore, I believe that the border issue is a winning one for Republicans, but most importantly, it is crucial for us to prioritize ensuring border security. If Republicans and the public feel that we have not done everything possible to secure the border, then that will be a problem.”

Cammack also mentioned that for former President Donald Trump to win in November, he needs to appeal to millennials, Generation Z voters, and women.

“In previous elections, college-educated suburban women have been a challenging demographic for Republicans to connect with,” Cammack stated. “This remains a significant challenge for him and other Republicans, but with the failures of Democratic policies and politics, there will be opportunities to attract these demographics. Issues like high mortgage rates for first-time homebuyers are of concern to many young people like myself.”
