Congresswoman Van Duyne tells Newsmax that Biden is responsible for the border crisis.

The Biden administration created the very border crisis they accuse Republicans of doing nothing about, Rep. Beth Van Duyne, R-Texas, told Newsmax.

“It’s not a response. They actually caused it,” Van Duyne told “American Agenda,” speaking to the border crisis.

“What you’re seeing now is record levels every single day, it seems like we’re hitting. People are crossing into our country illegally, more and more fentanyl deaths, more illegal crossings, more sex trafficking, more child trafficking, human trafficking coming through our state, our country than ever before, and as a direct result of [President Joe] Biden’s policies.”

In October, the Biden administration accused Republicans of “playing games” when it comes to securing the border, despite having political control in years prior in a Democrat-led House and Senate, as well as executive power via the appointment of Alejandro Mayorkas as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, and despite data from Customs and Border Protection that show a marked increase in Southwest land border encounters after the transfer of power from the Trump administration.

In a clip from RNC Research, Mayorkas told an interviewer that the Biden administration has no interest in spending “billions” on a border wall. However, as a part of Biden’s supplemental spending plan for Congress, for which the crux of negotiations centers around border security, arguments are being hashed out as to whether to spend billions on Ukraine and foreign aid to Israel and border security or spend billions on Ukraine and foreign aid to Israel with no border security.

On Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., released a rare joint statement announcing the tying of American tax dollars “to addressing needs at the southern border and to helping allies and partners confront serious threats in Israel, Ukraine and the Indo-Pacific.”

Congress will reconvene after the holidays for a vote.
