Corey Lewandowski becomes part of Trump campaign
Donald Trump’s former campaign manager in 2016, Corey Lewandowski, has been brought on board for the current presidential race to provide guidance on delegate and convention matters, as announced by Trump’s campaign to the National Review on Tuesday.
“He’s very valuable to me, and to the RNC and the president,” shared Trump campaign adviser Chris LaCivita with National Review.
Although he was removed as Trump’s campaign manager in June 2016 and from his position advising a pro-Trump super PAC in 2021, Lewandowski has continued to be a strong supporter.
In 2016, Lewandowski was replaced as campaign chair by Paul Manafort, who later resigned from the role that Lewandowski then took over.
The GOP convention is set to take place in mid-July in Milwaukee.
