Craig Shirley, historian, tells Newsmax that Trump’s visit to the Bronx was a brilliant decision

Presidential historian Craig Shirley called former President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to the Bronx on Thursday a “very smart” move that is “bad for the psychology of the [President Joe] Biden campaign,” according to a segment on Newsmax.

Trump is set to hold a rally in the South Bronx, a heavily Democratic county, in an effort to reach out to minority voters. This comes just days before a Manhattan jury will begin deliberations on his criminal business records trial.

The Bronx rally will mark Trump’s first public event, as he aims to win over a traditionally Democratic state that has not supported a Republican presidential candidate since Ronald Reagan in 1984.

In addition to creating a spectacle with rally-goers and protesters, the event allows Trump to highlight his stance on economic and immigration issues, potentially appealing to key Democratic voting groups.

Shirley expressed that the rally benefits Trump’s campaign psychology and puts pressure on the Biden campaign. He emphasized the historical significance of such visits, citing precedents set by presidents in the past.
