Cruz criticizes Biden and AOC for their reactions to college protests
Senator Ted Cruz from Texas criticized President Joe Biden and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York for their responses to recent protests at college campuses like Yale University, Columbia University, and New York University.
“That is not peaceful… Threats of violence and calls for murder are not peaceful,” Cruz said on his “Verdict” podcast, as reported by The Daily Wire.
Cruz also called out AOC for praising anti-Semitic protests at Columbia and Yale and expressed disappointment in President Biden’s response.
He mentioned remarks made by Columbia’s President after 9/11, where she described terrorism as a form of protest, and criticized the leftist sympathy towards terrorism in today’s academia.
Cruz also highlighted the case of Israeli American professor Shai Davidai, who faced backlash from Columbia University for planning a sit-in against pro-Palestinian protesters on campus.
“They decided between a Jewish professor on their faculty or the anti-Semitic protesters, and they chose to support the protesters,” Cruz stated.
