Democratic Analyst: Biden Doesn’t See Trump as his Biggest Threat

President Joe Biden faces a different kind of threat in the 2024 election, according to one Democrat analyst. It’s not Donald Trump that poses the biggest risk to Biden’s reelection bid, says CNN political analyst and former South Carolina state representative Bakari Sellers.

Sellers believes that the real challenge for Biden is getting voters to come out and vote in November, especially those who may feel uninspired or disengaged. Issues like the conflict in Gaza and motivating young and Black voters are crucial for Biden’s campaign strategy.

While Biden has secured the 2024 Democrat presidential nomination, he faced some pushback in state primaries over his stance on the Israel-Hamas war. In Michigan, for example, where he narrowly won in 2020, Biden’s support for Israel’s offensive in Gaza caused some voters to cast their ballots for “uncommitted.”

Recent polling shows a tight race between Biden and Trump, the presumptive 2024 GOP presidential nominee. Biden currently holds a slight lead, but the competition is fierce, especially among independent voters.

Analysts like Heath Brown suggest that the campaign will remain close in the coming months. The conflict in Gaza is likely to remain a key issue, with pro-Palestinian voters urging Biden to work towards a ceasefire and his relationship with Israel becoming increasingly strained.
