Democratic House Members Receive Historic Fundraising Amount in April
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised a record $12.4 million in April, outpacing its Republican counterpart by more than $2 million, as reported by The Hill on Monday.
This amount marks the highest ever fundraising for April by the DCCC, which supports House campaigns for the Democratic Party.
In contrast, the National Republican Congressional Committee raised just over $10 million in April, contributing to their total of $59.8 million raised so far this year.
Although the Republicans have raised slightly more at $57.8 million this year, the Democrats maintain the lead in cash on hand with a total of $75.9 million.
House Democrats have raised a total of $179 million during this election cycle, surpassing the $134.7 million raised by House Republicans.
DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene from Washington expressed confidence in a release saying, “With only six months to go before Election Day, House Democrats are ensuring we have the resources to take back the majority, make Hakeem Jeffries speaker, put an end to the chaos, and get the government back to work for families.”
NRCC Chair Richard Hudson from North Carolina also shared optimism for the GOP in a statement, emphasizing the need to raise funds to grow their majority and push back against the plans of Joe Biden and extreme House Democrats.
