Democratic Party to Criticize Trump’s Vice Presidential Pick as ‘MAGA Radical’

According to the Washington Examiner, Democrats are planning to attack whoever former President Donald Trump’s vice-presidential choice is as a “MAGA extremist.”

Trump, the expected 2024 Republican presidential nominee, has a list of potential running mates and plans to announce his pick during the upcoming GOP convention in Milwaukee.

President Joe Biden and Democrats are aiming to depict Trump’s eventual choice as someone who will blindly follow the former president’s orders if elected.

One Democrat operative told the Washington Examiner, “Republicans want voters to think that this group of MAGA lackeys will somehow temper Trump’s crazier impulses. It’s Mike Pence all over again, and look how that worked out last time, with the former president urging a mob toward the Capitol to harm his own vice president.”

The DNC and the Biden-Harris campaign have been sending out “MAGA Veepstakes” memos since last month to media outlets and others.

NBC News reported last week that Trump has narrowed down his VP choices to four candidates: North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida, Tim Scott of South Carolina, and J.D. Vance of Ohio.

The DNC plans to run “MAGA Veepstakes” ads on national television and radio before the Republican convention in July, focusing on issues like abortion, healthcare, tax policy, and the 2020 election results.
