Democrats Close to Launching Effort to Remove Biden

GOP contender Nikki Haley asserted Friday that Democrats are inching closer to ousting President Joe Biden from the reelection race, citing concerns over his cognitive fitness.

“I have long said the first party to retire its 80-year-old candidate will win the White House. Democrats appear on their way to doing just that,” Haley remarked in response to the special counsel report scrutinizing Biden’s handling of classified materials. She added, “[Former President Donald Trump] runs about even with the enfeebled Biden; he would get crushed by a Democrat with a pulse,” reported The Hill.

Released on Thursday, the report by special counsel Robert Hur determined that no charges should be filed against the president but highlighted issues with Biden’s memory and recall.

“We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” Hur stated. “Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt.

“It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him — by then a former president well into his 80s — of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”

In a late Thursday interview, Haley condemned the report’s findings on Biden’s cognitive abilities as “unbelievably disturbing.”

“It is unbelievably disturbing that they are showing that they see Biden to not have a good memory, that they see him as diminished, that they see that it’s a problem, and they point-blank say that,” Haley expressed during an appearance on Fox News’ “Hannity.”

“I mean, this is actually dangerous. … Look, people make fun of the fact that I say we need to have mental competency tests. There’s a reason 70% of Americans don’t wanna see a Biden-Trump rematch,” she continued.

The debate over Biden’s cognitive fitness has been a recurring theme among political circles, with some within the party expressing concerns about the president’s ability to effectively govern.

In a letter dated Feb. 5 and published within Hur’s report, President Biden’s legal team countered assertions regarding his memory. The White House contended that Biden’s difficulty recalling dates or specific details from years past is not uncommon.

“The report’s portrayal of President Biden’s memory is inaccurate and unjust,” the letter stated. “Using language that carries bias, the report describes a common situation among witnesses: the inability to recall events from years ago. Such commentary is inappropriate within a Department of Justice document.”

Dr. Stuart Fischer, a New York-based internal medicine physician, emphasized the necessity of a cognitive test for the president, stating it’s “long overdue” to prove his mental and physical fitness.

He highlighted the transparency exhibited by the U.K.’s Royal Family regarding King Charles III’s cancer diagnosis and urged the White House to adopt a similar approach to Biden’s health issues. “Honesty is the best policy,” Fischer stressed, advocating for transparency concerning Biden’s health in the United States, reported the Daily Mail.
