Senator Bernie Sanders acknowledged that during the Democrat Party’s tenure, they accomplished “practically nothing for working individuals,” before threatening to leave the interview.

In an ABC segment hosted by Johnathan Karl, Sanders (I-Vt.) was queried on whether he thinks Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) should pursue a Senate position.
Sanders replied, “Right now, we have, as I mentioned, a large number of individuals in Congress. OK, Jonathan, thanks,” as he abruptly stood up from his chair.
Karl mentioned he had one more question, which prompted Sanders to label it as “nonsense.”
“Well, if you want to engage in nonsense, go ahead. No, I’m not interested in Beltway chatter. I have 32,000 people,” he stated, referring to the audience he attracted at a recent event he co-hosted with Ocasio-Cortez.
Sanders eventually reclaimed his seat, expressing a desire to avoid discussing Ocasio-Cortez’s potential candidacy for Senate, subtly sidestepping increasing demands to remove Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).
Sanders also criticized the Democrat Party, asserting they “effectively did nothing for working individuals” while they held control over the Senate.
“Given that we are about 60 days into the Trump era, the second Trump era, how would you assess the Democratic Party’s actions?” Karl inquired.
“Well, I would point back even two years before that, before Trump’s election, to express my disappointment that when the Democrats had control of the Senate, they failed to act on behalf of working individuals. I must say that; as an Independent within the Democratic Caucus, I won’t misrepresent the truth,” Sanders replied.
“And since then, do I believe the Democrats have effectively rallied the American people and obstructed Trump’s drift toward oligarchy and authoritarianism? No, I do not,” he added.
Karl then posed a question about whether Sanders sees any positive contributions from President Donald Trump, to which Sanders replied, “Yes. I believe in taking firm action against fentanyl and strengthening our borders. Look, there is a consensus that illegal immigration is not acceptable, and I believe comprehensive immigration reform is necessary, but I don’t think it’s right for individuals to illegally cross the border.”
“The notion that Trump aims to deport 20 million undocumented individuals in this country? Well, if that were to happen, it would devastate the nation. Trump’s billionaire allies aren’t going to be the ones harvesting the crops in California that sustain us. They aren’t going to be the ones working in meatpacking plants. That’s the work being done by undocumented individuals. Thus, we need various initiatives, including guest worker programs, but predominantly comprehensive immigration reform.”
