Dems Gripped by Fear Over Biden’s Campaign, Politico Reports

Concern is mounting within the Democratic Party’s top ranks regarding President Joe Biden’s chances for reelection, as reported by Politico.

Even those who previously voiced confidence in Biden’s ability to face off against former President Donald Trump are now expressing hesitancy.

According to Politico, interviews with party officials and strategists reveal a growing divide between public statements and private fears.

“You don’t want to be the one publicly saying we’re doomed or criticizing Biden’s campaign,” one unnamed Democratic operative told Politico. “Nobody wants to be that person.”

Trump, leading Biden in key battleground states, also outpaced Biden in fundraising in April.

The outlook for Biden becomes murkier as Trump’s New York trial concludes and Hunter Biden’s trial begins in Delaware.

One advisor to Democratic donors created a list of reasons why Biden could lose to Trump, citing issues like immigration, inflation, and the president’s age.

Meanwhile, worried Democrats are urging Biden to show more empathy towards inflation, as voters gravitate towards Trump’s economic policies over Biden’s, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.

Rep. Ann Kuster, D-N.H., highlighted the impact of Supreme Court decisions under Trump on abortion rights, pointing to the Dobbs case as a potential motivator for voters.
