DeSantis Advises Exercise of Caution Regarding ‘Woke’ AI
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is campaigning for the GOP presidential nomination, has expressed concerns about “woke” artificial intelligence (AI). Speaking at a campaign appearance in Iowa, DeSantis said that some AI companies have data that is “woke” and driven by a political agenda. He believes that there is a significant amount of power in AI, and warns against a society where computers overtake humanity.
DeSantis has been vocal about his opposition to “wokeness” in various contexts. He has criticized the Biden administration for its culture-conscious approach to the military, which he believes has led to low morale and poor recruitment.
