DeSantis Places 5th in Presidential Bid, According to Oddsmakers
According to oddsmakers, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s chances of winning the presidency have become slim. He is currently tied for fifth place with a 4.8% chance of winning. California Governor Gavin Newsom is also tied with DeSantis at 4.8%. Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has a slightly higher chance at 5.2%, while Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has a 5.5% chance. Former President Donald Trump is leading the pack with a 28.5% chance of winning, while President Joe Biden has a 35.5% chance.
These odds were determined by the Election Betting Odds website, which used odds from various sources such as Betfair, Smarkets, Predictit, and Polymarket. However, Trump himself is confident in his chances and has reposted from Interactive Polls on his social media platform, Truth Social, claiming that he is the heavy favorite with a 71% chance of winning the 2024 Republican Primary. DeSantis, on the other hand, is listed at a low 14%, while Ramaswamy has a 10% chance.
Overall, according to oddsmakers, DeSantis’s presidential bid is considered a longshot compared to other candidates, particularly Trump and Biden.
