DeSantis Super PAC Appeals to Donors, Seeks $50M in Contributions
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ super PAC, Never Back Down, is seeking $50 million in donations before the Iowa caucuses to defeat former President Donald Trump in the 2024 Republican presidential nomination race. The super PAC officials held a fundraising lunch and urged wealthy Republicans to contribute, stating that the campaign needs $100 million by the end of March. They also expressed a goal of getting over 100,000 Iowans to caucus for DeSantis. The requested donations would cover $25 million in airtime for advertisements in New Hampshire and Iowa. The super PAC is leading DeSantis’ campaign despite not being allowed to coordinate with the governor or his team due to campaign finance laws.
