DeSantis Takes Stand to Protect Children in Schools
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis addressed his ongoing dispute with Disney in his state by emphasizing the importance of keeping gender ideology out of schools and protecting the “innocence of our children.” DeSantis made these remarks during a town hall with Newsmax in Urbandale, Iowa, on Monday night.
DeSantis explained that Disney came after them due to legislation intended to protect kids and parents from sexualized curriculum in elementary school. He stressed that it is wrong to teach young children about gender identity and choices, and that such topics should not be included in school curriculum. Despite opposition from the left, the media, and Disney, DeSantis stated that he will not back down when it comes to protecting the innocence of children.
Furthermore, DeSantis expressed his national perspective on education, emphasizing the importance of keeping critical race theory and gender ideology out of American schools if he were to become president. He warned that allowing schools to be influenced by woke ideology would lead to the failure of the next generation of Americans.
