The Trump administration has unveiled a new application that replaces former President Joe Biden’s “CBP One” app for undocumented migrants, introducing a tool that encourages self-deportation.

The CBP Home app, brought forth by President Donald Trump as an alternative to Biden’s CBP One app, promotes the idea of self-deportation among migrants. This new app stands in stark contrast to Biden’s, which allowed for appointment scheduling to apply for asylum.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem criticized Biden’s app while detailing the features of the revamped CBP Home app.
“The Biden Administration misused the CBP One App, resulting in over 1 million undocumented immigrants entering the United States. The launch of the CBP Home App signifies our efforts to restore integrity to the immigration system,” Noem declared in a Monday post on X.
“With the CBP Home app, undocumented migrants are given an option to leave immediately and self-deport, which allows them a chance to return legally in the future and pursue the American dream. If they choose otherwise, we will locate them, deport them, and ensure they cannot return,” she emphasized.
On his first day in office, President Trump discontinued the CBP One app, which had previously facilitated the entry of nearly a million migrants into the U.S.
President Trump has committed to launching a mass deportation initiative in response to the Biden administration’s open-border policies that saw millions of undocumented immigrants entering the country during his tenure.
The “Intent to Depart” function within the new CBP Home app aligns with President Trump’s objectives, which resonate with a significant portion of the American populace.
“The CBP Home App enhances our mission to secure the U.S. border by ensuring lawful entry for travelers and effective enforcement,” stated Pete Flores, Acting Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
“This app provides individuals in the U.S. illegally with an uncomplicated way to express their intent to voluntarily depart, giving them an opportunity to leave before facing severe repercussions. This reinforces our commitment to upholding U.S. laws and securing national safety,” he added.
