An alleged ringleader of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang, who was previously filmed breaking into homes in Aurora, Colorado, was apprehended during a raid in New York City on Tuesday.

Last August, doorbell camera footage captured Pacheco and five accomplices, armed with large rifles, as they forced their way into an apartment complex, breaking down doors and extorting terrified residents.

Anderson Zambrano-Pacheco, 25, was taken into custody after ICE agents executed a dawn raid at an apartment complex in the Bronx.

At the time of his arrest, Pacheco was reportedly heavily armed. He had several outstanding warrants for various charges, including kidnapping, burglary, and menacing, spanning back to his alleged crimes in Colorado.

According to criminaldefenselawyer.com, “’Menacing’ offenses are centered on the perpetrator’s intention to instill reasonable fear of immediate harm in another person. It is not necessary for actual injury or contact to occur, and proving that the offender intended genuine physical harm or that the victim experienced fear is not required.

The capture of the Venezuelan gang leader occurred amidst several arrests linked to President Donald Trump’s campaign of mass deportations, which aims to eliminate criminal elements from the nation.

Recently, Trump signed an executive order categorizing cartels and other groups as foreign terrorist organizations and specially designated global terrorists. He remarked, “Other transnational groups, such as Tren de Aragua (TdA) and La Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), present comparable threats to the U.S. Their violent and terroristic campaigns both domestically and internationally are extremely brutal and pose a significant risk to the stability of the international order in the Western Hemisphere.”

The Tren de Aragua gang “emerged from a Venezuelan prison and has grown into a widely feared criminal network engaged in sex trafficking, human smuggling, and drug trafficking,” reported The New York Times.

According to ICE’s daily statistics, there were 1,016 arrests and 814 detainers issued just on that Tuesday.

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, who joined forces with ICE agents and other officials from the Trump administration, swiftly reacted to the arrest, stating, “Enforcement operation in NYC. Criminal alien with kidnapping, assault & burglary charges is now in custody – thanks to @ICE. Individuals like this will be removed from our streets.”

Noem added, “Our operation began at 3 AM in NYC aimed at capturing criminal aliens. Among those arrested was the leader of the notorious Venezuelan gang, Tren de Aragua. We are committed to taking these criminals off our streets.”

ICE’s actions in New York City highlight the federal government’s drive to apprehend illegal aliens who have previously found refuge in cities with “sanctuary status” designated by Democrat policies. The agency continues its efforts to eliminate violent illegal gang members, murderers, rapists, and child sex offenders posing risks to American community safety.
