Donald Trump Jr. expresses outrage over $175M ruling in interview with Newsmax

Donald Trump Jr. expressed his disappointment to Newsmax about the New York appeals court decision to reduce his father’s bond from $454 million to $175 million. He called the ruling “egregious” and “dystopian,” especially since the Trump Organization believes it did nothing wrong in the first place.

Speaking on “Rob Schmitt Tonight,” Trump Jr. criticized the appellate court’s decision to lower the bond amount while his father appeals the ruling by Judge Arthur Engoron, which they consider “ridiculous and outrageous.”

Despite the reduction in bond amount, Trump Jr. emphasized that it is still a significant sum, pointing out that it is “funny money” for New York state. He highlighted the political nature of the case, stating that it is a form of persecution against his family.

Monday marked the deadline for Donald Trump to post cash or bond to avoid risking forfeiture of assets to New York Attorney General Letitia James. Trump’s legal team argued that obtaining a bond for $454 million was practically impossible, given the penalty and interest involved.

Trump Jr. described the situation as “truly dystopian,” given the circumstances surrounding the case and the exorbitant bond requirement.
