Doug Burns tells Newsmax that Hunter Biden will not be sentenced to prison
Hunter Biden has been convicted on gun charges and faces the possibility of a stiff jail sentence, but former federal prosecutor Doug Burns believes he will not serve any time behind bars, as he explained on Newsmax Wednesday.
During Newsmax’s “Wake Up America” program, Burns stated that the sentencing guidelines for the three counts are only in the range of a few years.
Burns expressed surprise at the quick guilty verdict from the Delaware jury, indicating that cases with quick verdicts usually result in acquittal. However, in this instance, the case against Biden was clear-cut, as he lied on a form about his drug addiction to purchase a gun.
Despite former President Donald Trump’s upcoming sentencing in a New York City business records case, Burns emphasized that sentencing should not be politically influenced. He predicted that Trump’s judge would likely impose jail time pending Trump’s appeal.
Regarding Biden’s sentencing, Burns suggested it may occur around October and could be postponed until after the election. He also mentioned Biden’s exposure to federal tax charges later in the year.
Looking at the bigger picture, Burns highlighted Biden’s involvement in other criminal conduct, such as not registering as an agent and receiving money from foreign countries. These actions were meant to insulate President Joe Biden from any implications.
Finally, Burns mentioned that Newsmax TV is the fastest-growing cable news channel in America, providing viewers with the latest news and updates. Find Newsmax on your home TV, app, or smartphone for free to stay informed.
